Uzbekistan plans to conduct the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) in 2027–2028. The study will be organised by the National Statistics Committee in cooperation with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The partnership was formalised through a memorandum signed on September 8, 2026, while the procedure for preparing and conducting the survey was established by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 556 dated October 9, 2026.
The preparatory stage is scheduled to run from October 2026 to June 2027. During this period, the organisers plan to develop the household sample, design and test questionnaires, prepare the budget and train interviewers. The survey will be conducted through face-to-face interviews using tablets. Under the approved schedule, household interviews are expected to be completed by November 2027, while data collection and analysis are scheduled to conclude by March 2028. The timeline may be revised by a decision of the coordinating council.
The national report is expected to be prepared by June 2028, with the survey results scheduled for publication by July. MICS will provide statistical data on the situation and well-being of children, adolescents and women, as well as help assess progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals. The findings may be used to analyse social conditions and identify priorities in healthcare, education and social protection.
