Social Protection in Uzbekistan: What a Survey Reveals About Public Assistance

According to a survey conducted by the «Ijtimoiy Fikr» Centre in June 2026, 76.9% of respondents believe that the social protection system meets the needs of vulnerable people fully, largely, or partially. The findings were published on October 23, alongside the World Summit for Children’s Well-being in Samarkand.

Among respondents who had sought social assistance, child benefits were the most frequently mentioned form of support (71.7%). Another 55.7% of participants believe that digital services make accessing social assistance significantly easier.

These figures reflect public perceptions of the social protection system and show how residents assess access to assistance and the convenience of digital services. The findings highlight the importance of further developing social services and improving their accessibility for people in need.
